Bokeh is the deliberate blurring of background light in a photographic image. The art involves keeping the foreground in focus and allowing the background to remain pleasing, but not distracting. As I revisit diaries and writings, I realize that memory has blurred. Time is a deliberate and kind photographer; filtering past remembrances and rendering even the unbearable with a patina that makes visitation possible.
The writer, artist, and photographer exist within the colors, sounds, emotions, and textures of the present. Still, there is value in the backdrop offered by past insights. As we struggle to take the perfect photo, or write the narrative based in truth, often there is one sentence or word that provides the signpost for the completed work.
This page is my challenge to myself and all are welcome to visit. There is no pressure on me to write, or for the visitor to read or comment. There is no need for accolades or condemnation.
Hopefully, the results will be pleasing and not distracting.
